THE DESIGNER

Born in Vicenza into a family of tailors, Giovanni Bedin was destined for fashion. His fascination with tailoring began before he could even read or write, as his family was specialised in made-to-measure before expanding into prêt-à-porter for both men and women.
Despite this early calling, his parents encouraged him to pursue a degree in accounting “just in case.” The five-year program turned out to be an unexpected blend: financial analysis and balance sheets on one side, languages and furtive fashion sketches
on the other.
At 19, diploma in hand, Giovanni moved to Paris to fully embrace his passion for style. He studied at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, refining his sewing techniques, before joining Karl Lagerfeld as an assistant. “A wonderful experience that taught me a lot — not only about work, but about life,” he recalls.
From 2010 to 2013, he assumed the role of Creative Director at House of Worth, the legendary haute couture house founded in 1858 by Charles Frederick Worth, the father of modern couture. Under Giovanni’s creative vision, the brand reinterpreted Edwardian corsets and voluminous crinolines into ballerina-like tulle skirts, and introduced a prêt-à-porter line for the U.S. market called "Courtworth”. His collections drew on heritage and fantasy, with collections that nodded to the spirit of Japonisme.
With this wealth of experience and a singular vision, Giovanni launched his eponymous brand, a label that merges couture tradition with an avant-garde spirit.
